All roads lead to the National Stadium practicing field and the Brima Attouga Mini complex where the inter-secondary schools competition would start today.
The Schools in the Western End would play their matches at the National Stadium Practicing field, while those in the East would play their matches at the Brima Attouga Mini Complex.
The winners in each sporting discipline in the respective zone would engage in the finals at the National Stadium in Freetown
It is anticipated that the Minister of Education Youth and Sports, Minkailu Bah would make a statement
The competition is expected to start with Volleyball in the Junior Girls category; with Akibo Betts playing against Beshesti in the junior boys, while Wallace Johnson would vie against Tower Hill Municipal.
In the senior category for girls, Government Model would engage Vine Memorial School, while in the senior boys category Government Secondary Technical School would battle it against Government Model in what promises to be a very stiff encounter.
After the Volleyball competition, the soccer competition would commence with the junior boys category as UMASS would take on Murray Town Army and the final match for day is between Government Model and Collegiate.
The competition is organized on a knockout basis.
However, the Ministry has frowned at the use of non going pupils in their team selection and that any one caught would be dealt with severely.
They are also appealing to the pupils to avoid violence during the contest as the primary aim is to tap the talents in various sporting disciplines.
