Twenty-seven years old Joseph Komeh of Suluku Lane, Koidu, Kono, met his fatal death exactly at a time, when he served to play the role of a peace maker between a fighting couple. Reportedly, Mohamed Kabba the husband had a misunderstanding with his wife Fatmata Kamara a suckling mother over a trivial matter, which later resulted in a bitter argument between the two.
Fatmata who was dissatisfied over the issue more especially the manner in which the husband had treated it all, forced her to go into the room and came out with a knife to revenge on her husband. However, in a desperate mood to stab her husband, Joseph decided to go in between, in an effort to stop the wife when all of a sudden Fatmata mistakenly stabbed Joseph in the stomach.
Though efforts were made to take Joseph to the hospital for immediate medical attention yet it was too late as he died on the way to the hospital.
Fatmata has since been arrested and taken to the Tankoro Police where she is helping the police in their investigations.
When asked as to whether the case is going to be produced in court for immediate trial, the head of Criminal Division Tankoro Mr. J.K. Sesay said the police need to be given sufficient time to investigate the matter. Mr. J.K. Sesay further reiterated that the case is in the embryo stage and that the police is in not in a hurry to charge the case to court, until enough evidence is gathered.
