Two accused persons Lahai Mohamed and Momoh Swarray have made their final appearance before the acting principal magistrate of the magistrate court in Kenema Alhaji Mohamed Momoh Jah-Steven on two count charges of conspiracy and larceny contrary to section 2 of the larceny Act of 1916.
The two accused persons according to the particulars of offence on Wednesday 25th December 2012 at Maina village in the Dama chiefdom Kenema district stole one laptop computer, two two-sim mobile phones and physical cash of two hundred and twenty thousand Leones from Abdul Kemoh of the same village.
At the end of the trial Momoh Swarray was discharged on both counts while Lahai Mohamed pleaded guilty on both counts and was there by sentenced to five months imprisonment on count one for larceny and eight months imprisonment on count two for conspiracy with no alternative.
In the same courtroom a bike rider Abdul Fofanah was also found guilty on two count charges of riding without license and riding without insurance, contrary to the law books of Sierra Leone. He was sentenced to three months imprisonment or to pay a fine of three hundred thousand Leones. Both cases were prosecuted by sergeant 49328 Lawunde, of the Legal and Justice Support Department of the Sierra Leone Police.
