A mechanic known as Gbessay Jaya residing at Airfield road in Kenema has made his last appearance before the presiding High Court Judge Hon. Justice Nyawo Maturi-Jones at the High Court in Kenema. According to the Prosecutor, Senior State Counsel East Timothy Sowa told the court that the accused on diverse dates between the 3rd and 23rd August 2006 at no. 1 Demby street in Kenema broke and entered the shop of one Mohamed Munda and stole 3 Samsung mobile phones valued at over 1.5million Leones (Le1,550,000) 9 Motorola valued at over 1.3 million Leones (Le1,360.000) 4 Africel Sim card valued at thrity six thousand leones (Le36.000) and 14 Mobile phones valued at four millions nine hundred thousand Leones. He was then charged with the offence of shop-breaking and larceny. The accused person pleaded guilty and was then sentenced to three years imprisonment.
Also in the Magistrate court in Kenema presided over by Magistrate Tonia Mbawa, one Alhaji Mansaray of 6 Massaquoi Lane made his last appearance before her on the charge of larceny by trick contrary to section 12 of cap 37 as amended by section 4 of Act no. 1981. According to the prosecutor Police Inspector Smart the accused person on Friday May 23rd 2008 at Dama road in Kenema stole by trick the sum of Le120.000 from one Alhaji Lahai Kallon entrusted to him to be delivered to somebody which he allegedly converted to his own use.
