All roads will be leading to the Tafawa Balewa Square cricket Oval, Onikam Lagos today to witness the last match in the competition between Sierra Leone and Nigeria in the second edition of the North/West Africa cricket tournament.
The contest is expected to be exciting as the cricketers are going to show their prowess in the match which will be a decider on who will clinch this year’s competition as both teams have won three matches each.
Both teams started the competition on a very good footing but in today’s encounter the Sierra Leone cricket team is going to the match to employ every means at their disposal to win the match and bring the trophy home.
The Nigeria side too will be going all out as they have no intention of losing that trophy on their home soil which will be a big blow to them.
The Nigerians are expected to use the home advantage to retain the trophy for the second consecutive time in a row.
During the competition both countries have produced outstanding players in the competition. For the Sierra Leone side they have players like Emmanuel Kamara with the highest runs of 176 for his side to be followed by Jacob Mansaray with 128 runs and Luseni Sensei with 112 runs. Lansana Lamin took the highest number of wickets – 9, while Mohamed Dumbuya and Ibrahim Sesay took three wickets each.
For the Nigeria side they can boast of players like Endurance Ofem who has be the hero of his side, with Olayinka Segun and Adegbola Kunle as very good bats men who can make lots of runs, and it is not easy for a bowler to get them out of the crease very easily
However, with the kind of super bowlers the Sierra Leone team can boast of they are going to dislodge both of them in the shortness possible time
After the competition the Sierra Leone team will waste no time they will travel straight to South Africa to take part in another cricket competition which will start on Sunday and they will be expected back home by the 20th of this month
