Ibrahim Kargbo Sierra Leone’s International football player who also plays for the Dutch club Willem II has received a FIFPro Merit 2008
The Award was accompanied with a cheque for 25,000 dollars for his work as an ambassador for the Care foundation in his native country of Sierra Leone.
The FIFPro Board made this choice because of the warm-hearted way in which Kargbo has given his services to offer a better future to the people in the country of his birth, and for the manner in which he has so clearly shouldered his responsibilities as a professional footballer.
The Willem II player was delighted with the prize that was presented to him by FIFPro Secretary General Theo van Seggelen. “I think that it is unique for a player from Sierra Leone to have won the FIFPro Merit and I am tremendously proud as a consequence.”
