‘’I feel honoured to become the Chairman of the biggest club’’- Rodney Michael
The newly appointed Chairman of Mighty Blackpool Football Club, Rodney Edmond Michael has said he feels honoured to become the chairman of the biggest club with the richest history and heritage club in Sierra Leone.
“The biggest club in Sierra Leone with the richest history and heritage remember that Blackpool is the only team that maintained the colonial names. Blackpool has stood the test of times because of that the club has a unique tradition, so for a club like that decides to select you out of the thousand people they have, they identify you as the person to restore their image and restore sanity into the club and develop the club to continue to be one of the biggest clubs in Sierra Leone, I take that as a great, great honour.”
“The vision they have is the same vision I have; is like having the club being like a family, the players, the fans, the executive, well-wishers, we should be like a family. Blackpool is going to be a family affair, we are going to work together to try and restore its credibility, restore its ability in the field and restore its status as the number one club in the Country,” Michael noted.
This is Rodney Michael’s first involvement in premier league football since he tendered his resignation as chairman of the Sierra Leone premier league board in December 2011.
