Outgoing President Tejan Kabbah has said he is very proud of how the elections went peaceful.
In a short interview with the President after voting, he said some people were thinking that the elections would not go on peacefully but that they were all disappointed as everything went on well.
When asked how he felt voting for the last time as president, he noted that he was happy that he had served his two terms and was leaving the country with his head up because of all what he had done.
President Kabbah also said he was very happy that the rains did not fall as the Almighty God was on the country’s side.
The former SLPP leader went on to state that because he did well for Sierra Leone, that was why voters in the polling centre where he cast his ballot applauded him.
President Kabbah and his entourage on Saturday around 10:30am arrived at the Martilie School area, Hill Station, where they cast their votes.
Five years ago, it was this same area that he voted himself for a second term.
