The Human Rights Respect Awareness Raising Campaigners in Sierra Leone yesterday commemorated the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in Sierra Leone, at the Presidential Lounge National Stadium in Freetown.
The fundamental issue of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Humanity is one of the greatest gifts compelling mankind to give the due and maximum respects to all the Principles, Treaties, Conventions, Declarations and Protocols.
The Universal Declaration serves as the foundation for upholding the pillars of the avowed World Peace, Justice, and Equality for which the United Nations Organizations was created in 1945, as a global body to make sure that humanity receives the purpose of life on earth.
The Executive Director of The Human Rights Respect Awareness Raising Campaigners Sahr Fania, expressed frustration and disappointment over the Human Rights abuses in the Country.
He highlighted the economic and social abuses committed by some mining companies and past Governments, which has been largely responsible for the underdevelopment of the Country; adding that they commit these crimes with impunity.
Sahr Fania noted that the organization has contributed immensely in making resolutions, recommendations and finding solutions that would make a response to the visual, factual and actual functions geared towards the mandate and objectivity for a peaceful, stable and sustainable development of the human society.
