A UK-based charity organization, Horizon Children’s Programme, has provided a library at Gloucester Street to abused children and a number of science text books to the ministry of education.
A beneficiary institution is the Triumphant International Preparatory School, a neighborhood school at Kendall Street in the Fullah Town Community in the east-end of Freetown. The school distributed a number of books received from the organization, as prizes to its pupils at its graduation and prize-giving ceremony.
Meanwhile, the school plans to open a library with books donated by the organization whereby pupils will be able to utilize the library facility. Established in 2003 to help in the educational sector in Sierra Leone, particularly in primary and secondary schools, Horizon is sponsored in the UK, through Nafisatu Koroma, a Sierra Leonean resident in England and is headed by Mrs. Gwendoline Alghali.
