The Hon. Member of Parliament for Constituency 03 in the Kailahun District east of Sierra Leone has donated 12 hospital beds for various health centers in his constituency. During the presentation ceremony at the Koidu Court Bari, the chairman of the program Albert Jabai who is also the chairman of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) thank and commended the Honourable for his gesture an described him as a true patriot of the soil and encourage him to work assiduously toward the development of his constituency.
Albert Jabai said the donation of the items is a clear manifestation that the honourable is committed to his promise made during the political struggle. He encouraged all in the constituency to be united and work towards the development of their respective communities as elections are now things of the past.
Speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation in Kailahun district, the health officer in charge of one of the health centers in constituency 03 Francis Sengu, thanked Hon Tamba Sam for complementing the effort of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation to improve on health service delivery in the country.
Francis Sengu said they as medical practitioners in the district are concerned with the high rate of HIV/AIDS infected persons in Kailahun district due to cross border movement of people in the two neighboring countries Guinea and Liberia.
He called on the government and all NGOs operating in and out of Kailahun district to collaborate with them in order to mitigate the spread of the disease in the district. Officially presenting the hospital beds to the health staff at the Koidu Court Bari, Hon. Musa Tamba Sam said the donation of the items was made possible through one of his brothers resident in London.
