According to the MP, the project for the construction of ten restroom facilities was funded by him and the Diaspora Kono Reunion to ensure that passengers rushing to the park early in the morning have decent places to ease themselves.
He maintained that providing the toilet facilities for the Konomanyi Lorry Park has always been part of his dreams, as different classes of people make use of the park while traveling to other districts and Freetown, adding that developing Kono District is his utmost priority. According to Hon. Lamina, he is currently completing the construction of a three classroom building for the children of Faandu in Koidu City; the construction of 3 hand-dug wells; 6 acres of constituency cassava farm as a model; supply of cleaning tools such as wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, cutlasses to 16 of the 25 Constituency 030 zones; and payment of fees for meritorious and deserving WASSCE, college and university students.
Paramount Chief of Gbense Chiefdom, Hon. PC Fengai Kogbenday Kaimachende, expressed appreciation to Hon. Lamina and the Diaspora Kono Reunion for their timely support to the people of Constituency 030 and the district as a whole. According to the Kono District Drivers Union Chairman, Alie Musa, the gesture by the MP and the Diaspora Kono Reunion has helped transform conditions at the lorry park, as they were struggling to get a decent toilet facility.
He assured of providing leadership to ensure that the facility is well taken care of, as they plan to employ people to look after and report when it requires repairs.
