Al Bangura’s Carling Cup display against Wigan convinced Seasiders boss Ian Holloway to offer the midfielder a long-term contract.
On his debut, the 21-year-old helped the Tangerines to their impressive cup display against the Premier League outfit and has since made a league appearance against Coventry.
Further impressive performances in training persuaded Holloway to sign the abrasive midfielder Bangura on a permanent deal.
“Al has been absolutely terrific for us,” said Holloway. “He came here with a point to prove and I am delighted to have signed him for the season.
“He has something our squad is missing.
“He proved last Wednesday against Wigan what he had to offer and I am sure he will become a valuable asset in our squad.”
Bangura himself is chuffed with the deal, saying: “I am delighted the Gaffer has given me the chance, I have got to keep doing what I am doing.
“I think I can bring a lot to the team and I’ll make sure I do my best.
“I have a bit of experience in this division and I am sure I will add something to the squad.”
