It has been reported that the rate of HIV infections has increased in the Kailahun district east of the country.
This was disclosed to the press by the HIV Programme coordinator Majoh Lamin.
He says the increase was detected during the newly conducted HIV test in the district saying that more people are getting the infected.
He further stated that the high infection rate in the district is due to ignorance and risky behaviour of the people like ignoring the
realities of HIV.
He says the Aids Secretariat has increased the test and treatment centers in the Kailahun district so that more people will go for the voluntary testing and treatment.
He encouraged the people to go for the test saying that the information is kept secret.
Mr. Kallon pointed out that they are also doing massive campaigns in the entire district to ensure that many people get vital information on the spread and control of the disease (HIV).
