Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – In a clash that lived up to its billing as a historic rivalry, Small Country Football Club and Monkey Bush Community Football Club thrilled spectators at the Western Area Rural District Football Association’s Le 100 million Leones Tournament. The highly anticipated match, held at the Bassa Town playing field on Thursday, November 30, 2023, culminated in a hard-fought 2-2 draw.
Small Country Football Club initially seized the lead during the first half with impressive goals from Bai Mansaray and Ibrahim S. Kamara. However, the second half saw Monkey Bush Community Football Club mount a comeback, with Mohamed S. Kargbo and Musa Noah Kamara, also known as Musa Tombo, leveling the score.
As the final whistle loomed, the intensity on the pitch mirrored the significance of the rivalry. Both teams, cognizant of the implications of a victory, pressed for a breakthrough.
