The managing director of Sierra Leone Brewery Limited (SLBL), Dr John Mbonu, and the marketing manager of Heineken International jointly launched the ‘Heineken Nostalgia Night’ on Wednesday at the Lagoonda Entertainment Complex at Aberdeen in Freetown. The occasion was chaired by Abubakarr Dizo-Kamara of the Sierra Leone State Lottery. In his welcome remarks, the MC explained about the good old days and the quality of SLBL products before and after the war. He also spoke about his long time friendship with the SLBL manager.
In his statement, Dr Mbonu stated that, “tonight is really not a night of speech making… [the reason for] setting up the Heineken Nostalgia night is because we believe that people should enjoy themselves.”
Dr Mbonu explained that it had been observed that people really wanted to enjoy themselves but the avenue to satisfy this thirsting quest for enjoyment was not available.
The SLBL managing director disclosed that, “from now on to August, every Wednesday would be the ‘Heineken Nostalgia night’ at Lagoonda.”
In Lagoonda, he boosted, “we would create the perfect atmosphere… songs from the 80s and 90s would be played.”
“You remember the let go dancing ‘ho-la-la-lah’…just come along and dance your heart way” Dr Mbonu said.
