Hotel and Entertainment Centres Federation Association (HECFA) Vice chairman Mohamed Umar Jalloh who is the owner of the Hill Valley hotel has told Awoko Sports they have banned the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) from all hotel and guest houses in the country.
He said that the SLFA will not lodge any foreign teams or even our national teams in any of the hotels or guest houses in the country as SLFA has to pay about five hotels in the country the sum of 137 million Leones since 2007.
He said some months ago FA President Nahim Kadi called asking him for a reduction in the rate of the rooms at his hotel that he Nahim Kadi is going to pay directly from his own pocket.
He said Nahim told him he is going to pay US$55 and he agreed and Nahim Kadi paid an advance sum of three million Leones for the Benin match. After the game he said they refused to pay the balance sum of money.
He said FA President Kadi decided to give them half of the money when the Togolese delegation was supposed to arrive in town for their encounter with Leone Stars. After the Togo match again they still refused to pay them and they went and made complains to the minister and Africell and Africell paid half of the money to all the hotels they had to pay.
After that he said they later promised that in two months time they are going to pay all the money to the hotels and they agreed but after the two months nothing was done.
Again when South Africa match was coming the Sports Minister called him to lodge the National team which they agreed because as a Government Minister they had to give him the respect and he assured them that after the match they are going to pay them all their money. He said he told the minister that if they failed to pay the money to the hostels they will never lodge any foreign teams or national teams which he agree and they later send the bills to him at his office and one to SLFA
He said after their trip from South Africa he went to remind the minister about what he had told him and the Minister Jah started calling names. He said he is confused and up till now nothing has been done to pay the money to the hotels, and as an association “we have come together to take a final decision that no hotels or guest house will lodge Foreign teams or any of our national team if they refuse to settle their bills.”
