The Minister of Health and Sanitation, Haja Zainab Bangura, has said that she is optimistic of meeting the challenges ahead of her.
She said this in a meeting she held with the UNFPA Country Representative, Madam Ratidzai Ndlovu at her Wilberforce office in Freetown to update her about development in the health sector.
The Minister described her job as very challenging in ensuring that government’s policy of providing accessible and affordable quality health care for its citizens succeeds. She noted that her responsibility is not sitting down waiting for people to come and update her, but rather to see for herself and make necessary judgment required for growth in the health sector.
Haja Hawa Bangura further stated that she would use her entrepreneurial ability as a manager to follow up issues that would strengthen output, highlighting the huge challenges and high expectations of the people.
The Health Minister averred that she accepted her job with a lot of passion and commitment to serve humanity, and ready to work and make difference in the country’s health care delivery system.
UNFPA Representative, Madam Ratidzai Ndlovu commended the Minister for the positive initiative in meeting with partners to discuss issues of national interest. She described the Minister as a woman of substance that has come to make the necessary impact that would improve the country’s health care delivery syste.
