Hon. Alimamy A. Kamara, the Member of Parliament for Constituency 29 in Makeni, has ordered the Khulafai Rashideen Primary School Head Teacher Mr. Mamudu Kargbo to pay back a two-year backlog salary due to Mrs. Abibatu Kamara or go to jail.
The order to pay reportedly came when the strict MP detected from the school voucher that Mrs. Kamara had not signed the voucher for two years.
The uncompromising Honorable wasted no time in withholding the voucher and temporarily suspended the verification of Khulafai Rashideen teachers, which led to a full-scale investigation.
At the end of the 24 hour-investigation, Awoko was able to gather that Mrs. Kamara, a TC holder, was approved by the education ministry two years back.
The head teacher, is alleged to have hid Mrs. Kamara’s approval, saying that she was not approved.
Apart from Mrs. Kamara’s alleged salary fraud, the head teacher is still to account for the two-year salary of another teacher, Mrs. Ibrahim Kalokoh (aka Vapour), who abandoned the school two years ago but her name was not deleted from the voucher.
It is currently still unclear whether the head teacher has paid back or been charged to court.
