According to the media officers at the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) Assistant Superintendent Ibrahim Samura, a Guinean armed robber, Sayor Oulare has named some notorious Sierra Leonean armed robbers that he collaborates with.
They include: Sonny Brainard, Ikeni Okoro aka Prince a Nigerian, Mohamed Kamara aka Junior Soco, and Santigie Koroma aka Turner, Ishmael Deen Mansaray aka Tigana, Mohamed Kabba aka Sisqo, and Alpha Yayah Wurie.
Most of these armed robbers named have been charged to court for similar offences.
ASP Samura explained that Sayor Oulare was accompanied to Sierra Leone by four Guinean officers to Freetown to identify a group of armed robbers in Sierra Leone who have been collaborating with him.
The Media Officer also stated that Oulare was caught in an armed robbery in Guinea and upon interrogation named some of these armed robbers.
Some of these armed robbers, he maintained are presently convicted by court and detained at Pademba Road prisons and some incarcerated for similar offences.
Samura further explained that the Guinean Interpol linked with the Interpol in Sierra Leone and the anti robbery squad to identify some of these armed robbers he has been working with. The anti robbery squad’s mandate is to go in search of armed robbers wherever they are.
He explained that from what they gathered, properties stolen in Guinea are being sold in Sierra Leone and properties stolen in Sierra Leone are sold in Guinea.
The Media officer explained that upon interrogation of the Guinean armed robber he explained that he came to know one of the armed robbers, Ishmael Deen Mansaray aka Tigana in 1998 in a Guinea prison where Tigana was detained for larceny and he was detained for armed robbery.
Since then, he stated he had been operating with Tigana. Oulare, Samura explained also named certain people who bought from them three vehicles stolen in Guinea.
The Military Aid to Civil Power (MAC-P), he reiterated are very helpful in capturing these armed robbers, adding that credence should be given to MAC-P and the Anti robbery squad for their effort in capturing these notorious armed robbers.
The rate of armed robbery, he disclosed has reduced drastically since MAC-P and the Anti robbery squad captured some of these armed robbers.
“We are charged with the responsibilities of apprehending and charging cases to court, and the court is expected to deliver justice”, he said.
He made a humble plea to the judiciary to give long jail terms to these armed robbers, as it will serve as deterrent to would be armed robbers.
