Guaranty Trust Bank, Splash’s banking partner now offers the first domestic mobile payments in Sierra Leone.
Splash Mobile Money Limited also allows mobile phone users to purchase and send electronic money known as SplashCash to loved ones and relatives. The product also allows customers to conduct quick, easy, cheap and secure money transfers.
According to the brainchild of SplashCash Sheka Forna he said Guaranty Trust Bank is responsible for distribution SplashCash to Splash Agents but that does not necessarily mean that customers should have a bank account in order to use the Splash Service.
He also said the new product is currently supported on the Zain and Africell networks only and negotiations are currently underway with the other mobile networks. The product will be quick, easy, cheap and secured. The product is currently available in Freetown, Bo, Makeni and Kenema.
