The long awaited allowances has been finally paid to the cycling delegation who made the trip to Liberia to participate in the second edition of the ECOWAS peace cycling tour about four months ago where they won the competition for the second time in a row.
The Public Relation Officer of the association disclosed that the executive was under serious pressure from the cyclists as they were demanding for their allowances at all cost as if the executive have done nothing for them to receive their allowances.
The PRO praised the Minister of Education Youth and Sports Dr Minkailu Bah for his intervention to make the allowances of the delegation be paid to the association’s bank account after the Director of Sports on several occasion assured the delegation of receiving the allowances but it never materialized
This is the first time the association has received allowances from government for the past four years now and appealed to government to at least pay the allowances of the delegation before they depart the shores of Sierra Leone.
