Sierra FC has failed to win their third successive match in the on-going Division Two League organised by the Western Area Football Association (WAFA) played on Friday 2nd April, with both teams putting on a very good performance.
Sierra FC took the lead in the fourth minute of play through an Abdul Kassim Turay penalty.
After the goal Sierra FC looked desperate and created many scoring chances that should have increased the score line, but the attackers failed to score.
The second half was a ding dong battle as both teams played to secure all three points; however, Goderich were able to get the equaliser and looked like the team that would secure all three points.
Before the match, Coach Kendol Decker, President & Technical Director of Aspen Hill Soccer Club, USA was very supportive and encouraging of Sierra FC by taking them to camp.
The Technical Director, Sierra FC, Coach Sam Ngobeh, apologised to the management and fans after failing to win, and promised trying to win the next match.
According to reports from analysts who witnessed the match, it was one where the best two teams in the group had clashed, calling it “the best match so far that has been played.”
Sierra FC are now in second position with seven points; with Goderich FC third with five points, while Walsall lead the table with maximum points from three matches.
