Gibril Wilson a Sierra Leonean leaving in America and playing in the American rugby league will organise a gala on Sunday between Kallon FC and Mighty Blackpool at the National Stadium.
The match will be free of charge.
After the gala the winning team of 18 players will each receive one hundred dollars as prize just after the game.
This great rugby player was the first African rugby player to sign the highest deal for one of the teams – Los Angeles Raiders for 39 million dollars.
Gibril Wilson was born in Freetown and grew up at Kroo town road, but got his early education at the St Edwards primary school at Fort Street before leaving for the USA.
In the USA he continued his educational career where he attended the Oak Grove High School and proceeded to college in the City College of San Francisco and the University of Tennessee where he majored in sociology.
Gibril Wilson was good in street football during his early days but in America he wasted no time to quickly transform himself into playing American soccer.
After several years in the game, because of his outstanding performance he was spotted by New York Giants which grabbed him as a free safety player and he played so many games for them.
And at the end of the season he was named the first African American Soccer player to win the national football league Rookie for the year.
He has also won several other awards
He is currently in town to see how he can invest in this country and will also be expected to make donations to the less privileged children and the disabled.
