Fullah Tong over the weekend in the Central One Football Association(COFA) community league replay final at the Parade Grounds defeated their opponents Cole Farm by 5-3 in a penalty shoot out after a goalless draw to win the league at the Parade grounds in Freetown.
In the first half of the match both teams started the match with a very high speed with both teams creating a lot of chances to score but the goal never materialized as both teams had a very strong defence with excellent goal keeping from both sides
During the second half of the match both teams were more cautious as they were afraid to concede a goal during that time since that will be very dangerous to them.
At about 5 minutes to the end of the match one of the Fullah Tong players was red carded for rough play.
The chairman of the Central One Football Association (COFA) Sammah Sesay said that the league started with 20 communities and they were divided into four groups with each teams playing four matches in the first phase.
During the second phase only 16 teams continued the league with 4 going out of the league and these 16 teams were also divided into four groups which give each team a chance to play three games each
Only 8 communities went into the quarter final stage and Fullah Tong and Cole Farm were the best two that went onto the final stage
He also mentioned that the winners received two million Leones with a trophy while the runners up received Seven Hundred Thousand Leones also with a trophy
Chairman Sammah Sesay said that during the first final match which was played between the two teams it ended one all (1-1) before the match was called off by the referee because of the bad behaviour of both teams
On this grounds chairman Sesay said that after an executive meeting both teams were fined a sum of one hundred and fifty thousand Leones and this money was removed from their prize money.
