The Chairman Real Republicans FC Alhaji Umaru Bah has expressed thanks and appreciation to Capay Ivorian Sillah for giving 35 match day outfits (jerseys), 25 for the players and 10 for the officials, and also the sum of Le 100, 000 (NLe 10,000) to Real Republicans Football Club.
He said he is happy for such a wonderful gesture to give back to his boyhood club, adding he will always be recognized as part of the Soccer Ambassadors’ family.
Presenting the outfits (jerseys) and the cash money Capay Ivorian Sillah, said he was very pleased to give back to his boyhood club despite playing for Freetown United FC.
He revealed that as a member of the Real Republicans fora in the United Kingdom, he felt unpleasant seeing players wearing different types of attires which include Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool to name a few, during the national playoff at Makeni.
“I was like this is not right so I put that in mind and the moment they gained promotion I called the Chairman and congratulated him. I made a promise to provide them with a set of jerseys but later I recollected the incident during the playoff and I decided to get unique outfits for the entire team and officials.
Capay Ivorian underscored that he was well known for playing for Freetown United FC, but as a kid, he has always seen around Real Republicans and Sierra Fisheries camps.
“Apparently as a kid, I served Real Republicans and Sierra Fisheries. I was always hanging around their camps assisting the likes of Amadu Rappel, Sentu Johnson, Foday Sesay aka Chairman, the Ghanaian trio Ismael Lamtey, Andrew Hooper, and Andy Neepay, and next to them, it was Sierra Fisheries. Looking back I think I owe Republicans because I grew up within their camp so when you grew up in such a way you may want to give back to such a club,” Sillah affirmed.
He concluded by calling on all supporters of Real Republicans commonly known as Soccer Ambassadors to come on board to give their support to the team, noting that the players need the supporters at this particular moment because they need motivation. BT/10/1/2023
