Sierra Leone: The fourth series of Sierra Leone Teqball will take place in Kenema this weekend after three successful series held at the Siaka Stevens Stadium, Masiaka and Aberdeen Beach.
According to the leader of the sport, Unisa Deen Kargbo, this will be the last series to determine the winner “as four series is one competition when it comes to teqball”, and appealed to the players to put on their best in this last series.
According to Chief Referee Alhaji Kamson, “We need to improve in the laws of the game in our first, second and third series. We all agreed that for a player or team to win a set, there must be a difference of two points for each set; that is, 12-10, 11-13, 14-12, 8-12, etc.”
However, he said, “This is not going to happen for the fourth series in Kenema. For the first and second sets, the player or team to first reach 12 points is going to be the winner. But if it happens that they go for a third set, the winner must have a two-point difference. For example, 10-12, 13-11, 14-12, 15-13, as the case may be.”
He closed by calling on coaches, referees and team leaders to “remind our players of this rule so that we can see real teqball games in Kenema City”.
