Evangelization could not only mean spreading the word of God but also helping the sick and needy and this has been clearly manifested by the Four Square Gospel Church which concluded a week-long free medical treatment to the public.
In an interview with a pharmacist and a member of the team, Olajumoke Ojetokun, she said this work “is a form of evangelizing because we believe we want to show the love of God but that does not mean if you come here and say you are not a Christian we are going send you back.”
Stressing that the main aim of their mission was to share what God had given them with other people and to bless them with it.
Talking about the purpose of their visit, Mrs Ojetokun mentioned that they were here to give free medical drugs and service to people, but because they did not have backup hospitals any patient who needed surgery would be referred to hospitals.
Although this is the first time the team has been in the country, the pharmacist disclosed that they had been to other countries giving free medical treatments.
Continuing she said, “we are actually paying to come on this trip. We have to buy our tickets, we buy the drugs we are bringing in, but because God has blessed us so much and we love the people so we want to share what God has given us.”
For this particular free medical treatment, Olajumoke Ojetokun disclosed that they spent about 20,000 dollars excluding transportation.
