Four accused persons: Mohamed Sesay, Williams Sao Foday, Bockarie Mambu and Bockarie Sao, have made their last appearance before magistrate Tonia Mbawa at the Kenema Magistrate Court.
They were charged with illicit mining and wounding.
The accused on 16 April 2004, at Bendu town in Malegohun chiefdom in the Kenema district, wounded one mines monitoring officer Mohamed Kamara alias Gbatawai who was sent by the Mines Office to confirm a complaint received by the office about illicit mining in the area.
All the accused persons were found guilty and fined Le150.000 each or 12 months imprisonment. They paid the fines to get their freedom.
