The Founder and Coordinator of the Local Non Governmental Organisation the Centre for Encouraging, Caring and Support HIV Infected People Serra Leone (CECSHIP-SL) who also doubles as the Regional Coordinator East of Network of HIV People in Sierra Leone (NETHIPS) George Massaquoi has ended a three day working visit to Kailahun and Gbalahun Towns in the Luawa Chiefdom in the Kailahun District.
George Massaquoi told the press in Kenema City that the aim of his visit is to monitor the on going agricultural project implemented by NETHIPS members residing in Kailahun District with support from the parent body in Kenema City. Massaquoi said CECSHIP in Gbalahun and Kailahun Towns respectively have planted over 20 bushels of groundnut and large acres of cassava in order to sustain its members. The Coordinator further stated that the agricultural project in Kailahun District is gearing towards the reduction of their dependence rate on daily support adding that HIV infected persons in the areas are also engaged in skills training activities to capacitate themselves for a brighter future. George assures those living with HIV and members of CECSHIP to stand against stigmatization in their communities and to continue taking their Anti recto viral drugs for a healthy living.
