In a bid to boost the Foulah Town Mosque in Freetown a non- profit entity registered in the United States of America and United Kingdom has donated wall and ceiling fans to including Le 1.5m for the completion of a water well for the mosque.
The objective of the donation to the mosque according to the project Coordinator Abdul Borboh Kamara, who is currently implementing the project for the association in Freetown said “our brothers and sisters in the USA/UK want to improve basic facilities of their former house of worship.”
He said the donation of 4 wall fans and 3 ceiling fans will address the overheating of the mosque during Friday prayers.
Kamara also explained that, it is in preparation for the holy month of Rammadam that the association has decided to expedite the completion of the water well project for the mosque, to ease constraints faced by worshipers in fetching water.
Donations for the project was made possible by the generous of contribution of members of the association in several states in the USA/UK who are working hard to contribute in their own little ways to the development of the mosque back home.
Receiving the donation the Imam of the Foulah Town mosque at 3rd Street by Magazine Cut Imam Abdul Rahman Hamid expressed profound gratitude to the Foulah Town Association in the USA for their valuable contribution in improving some of the major facilities in the mosque.
The imam prayed for God’s guidance and protection in respective endeavors. He also recited some section of the Quran for the worshippers and all those who are contributing to the improvement of the mosque.
