The Former Acting Director-General of the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Services (SLBS) Kashopeh Wellington has been charged by the ACC for the misappropriation of $22, 200, 00.

He was yesterday arraigned before Justice Brown Marke of the High Court, together with his former Accountant, Madonna Druscilla Cole. They were charged for misappropriating public funds paid by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) to the SLBS, which amounted to the sum of $22,200 for the use of the Leicester Peak facility.
They both pleaded not guilty to the charges as the case was adjourned to December 11.
Also, the Chief Clerk at the Immigration Department, Alhaji Alie Badara Seisay was also arraigned before the same court on two counts of soliciting and accepting an advantage contrary to section 8(1)(a) of the ACC Act 2000 as amended. He was accused of soliciting and accepting money for the preparation of a passport. He too pleaded not guilty as the matter was adjourned to December 3, 2008.
