
Former Police Officer Alpha Kholifa Koroma was yesterday announced by State House as the new Chief Immigration Officer replacing Madam Alice Kamara.
Alpha Kholifa Koroma, a former Assistant Superintendent in the Sierra Leone Police has worked both at the CID and even at the Immigration as a police officer before taking a leave of absence to work for the United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone (UNAMSIL).
After leaving UNAMSIL Mr Koroma proceeded to the UK where he read law.
Ms Alice Kamara was student warden at the Milton Margai College of Education and Technology when she was appointed by President Tejan Kabbah after the death of Gloria Newman Smart.
She was a member of board of the National Power Authority who were summarily sacked by President Kabbah just before her appointment as Chief Immigration Officer.
Two other appointments announced were, Mr Jacob Kanu of First Discount House was appointed as Chairman, National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) replacing Andrew Keilie, whilst Mr Alfred Sam –King of Sam King services is appointed as Chairman, Sierra Leone Insurance Commission.
