Former Leone Stars Team Manager Dauda Boosts St. Anthony with Multi-Purpose Facility

Freetown, September 18, 2023 – Chairman Dauda, the former Team Manager of Leone Stars and Chairman of Brookfield United Football, an ex-pupil of St. Anthony Boys Primary School, made a significant contribution to his alma mater on Thursday, September 14, 2023. He turned the sod for the construction of a multi-purpose recreational sports complex within the school compound.

Chairman Dauda expressed his motivation behind this initiative, emphasizing the importance of providing the school with a multi-purpose sports complex. The facility will enable pupils to participate in various sports, including football, basketball, lawn tennis, and other disciplines. St. Anthony Boys Primary School has a history of producing talented athletes in Sierra Leone, making such a complex essential for nurturing young sports talents.

Chairman Dauda, as an alumnus of the school, aims to give back to his former institution and support the school’s administration in developing the children’s skills and knowledge in sports. He stated his intention to extend similar support to other schools across the country.

The construction of the multi-purpose complex is expected to be completed within five weeks, marking a significant step towards enhancing sports education and development among the students.

The Head Teacher of the Afternoon Shift at St. Anthony Primary School expressed his delight at the initiative, calling it a dream come true. The new facilities will facilitate physical exercise as part of the school curriculum and instil pride in the students.

St. Anthony Primary School has a strong sporting history and has excelled in various inter-primary school competitions, including winning the championship trophy two years ago and achieving second place in football and basketball competitions in the last edition. BT/18/9/2023
