A former reverend father in the catholic mission (name withheld) is to account for the sum of twenty two thousand dollars ($22,000) which he allegedly made away with to London.
According to sources from the catholic mission the former priest left the country in June with the said money meant for the Saint Paul’s Major Seminary and some for catechist and some which the mission has not been able to put together.
It was further disclosed by the sources within the mission that the former priest returned back to marry his wife and was arrested on the 21st April at the Freetown International airport as he was planning to leave the country again immediately after the wedding ceremony.
He was later taken to the CID for investigations and was later granted bail.
The matter is likely to be charged to court tomorrow.
