Foreign Minister Nabeela Tunis Tuesday launched the book “All Protocols Observed” authored by Ambassador Soulay Darama, whom she described as “One of Sierra Leone’s finest diplomats.” She expressed her joy that a product of the Foreign Ministry had achieved such success but most importantly that “a reliable contextual reference” had been provided when questions about the observance of protocol arise.
She ordered a book for every staff member of the Foreign Ministry. For her she was happy about the chapter dealing with women, which she hoped would inspire women and girls to go for grater things. The reviewer Prof. Joe A.D. Allie recounted an African proverb which says when says when an old man or woman dies a library burns down to the ground. He praised Amb. Daramy for writing the book recommending it for students of the university.
Amb Daramy himself spoke about protocol mistakes made, giving examples from the state events and pointing out lapses in sitting positions, in addressing dignitaries, and also in using the RSVP on invitations. Statements were also made by former Deputy Foreign Minister Dr Gibril Sesay, and Ms Ebun Strasser King among others.
