Clearing and forwarding agent Florence Conteh on Friday 14th August 2020 faced Lamin Koroma, alias Game Boy, in court for damaging her vehicle worth Le120 million. Accused Lamin Koroma made his first appearance before Magistrate Alhaji Sulaiman Koroma of Court No.1 Ross Road, Freetown on two counts of malicious damage contrary to Section 51 of the Malicious Damage Act 1861 and larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916. Police alleged Koroma on Saturday 20th June 2020 at Devil Hole in Western Rural maliciously damaged one Mercedes Benz truck (reg.# APC 666) valued at Le120 million, property of Florence Conteh.
Police further alleged the accused on the same date and place stole from the Benz truck two vehicle batteries valued at Le1.4 million, property of Florence Conteh. The charges were read to the accused, but he didn’t take a plea. Koroma was represented by lawyer Maddieu Sesay who applied for bail that was objected by prosecutor Inspector Prince Daramy. Magistrate Alhaji Sulaiman Koroma, however, granted Le150 million bail and one surety in like sum. The bail must be approved by the Master and Registrar.
The matter was adjourned to 24th August 2020.
