Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay, the All People’s Congress (APC) aspirant for constituency 49 in Port Loko, has donated a split unit, a generator and Le1.6million cash towards the establishment of a radio station in the township.
He made the presentation at the Lunsar Road’s ‘attaya’ base where he lured his audience that the APC would do everything possible to foster development in the district.
The APC aspirant opined that they were aware of the level of marginalization the people had suffered because of their loyalty to the party. Mr Sesay stated that when they would have won the election, the glory which the township enjoyed during the era of the late Vice President Sorie Ibrahim Koroma would be regained during the presidency of Ernest Bai Koroma.
He used the opportunity to outline the areas the APC intended intervening, stressing the importance of the pending elections which he referred to as crucial for the development of the country.
Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay further explained how the prevailing hardship had exposed the majority of young girls to prosecution, while calling on paramount chiefs to remain neutral in national politics.
Speaking at the occasion chairman Abubakarr Kamara said the people of the district had had enough trials from candidates over the years and now deserved effective representatives in parliament.
The chairman noted that he viewed the APC as the real redeemer and key to the development of the district.
The setting up of the radio station, various speakers said, is a life long dream for the people of the district.
