Hundreds of residents have been displaced while others are still suffering as a result of heavy downpour of rain for the past two days.
The areas affected include Lahai street, Wahman Abu road, Saffa street, Swaray kunda street, Aruna street, Second street, Jakuba street at Kpetewoma and Kpayama section.
Properties worth millions of Leones have been destroyed and over 20 houses have been affected including a church compound along Wahman Abu road, while five houses have already collapsed.
Some residents in the center of the city are moving to the affected areas to rescue their relatives and loved ones.
An affected woman – Mariama Kai Fornah is calling on the government and humanitarian organizations to immediately come to their aid.
At one of the scenes, the Local Unit Commander of the Kenema division Vicent Nabieu was seen trying to console the victims while also trying to assist them.
Some people were moving with their few belongs that they could lay hands on.
Many of them are having sleepless night as food and other belongs have been destroyed.
