The First Lady Sia Nyama Koroma will today lay the foundation stone for the construction of a three storied building (another branch) at Moyamba Junction for Guru Nanak enterprises.
Guru Nanak enterprises which started operations in Sierra Leone in 1992 is best known for dealing in building materials, provisions and agricultural tools. It already has branches in Kenema, Makeni, Bo, Kono, Kambia and Kabala.
This new venture is an attempt to compliment government efforts in national development and enhancing the growth of the economy through increased participation of the private sector.
According to the proprietors the building is also in response to President Koroma’s for the decentralization of economic activities for more sustained economic development in the country.
The ventured when complete is expected to provide jobs for residents in the area and also provide job opportunities for youths who will benefit more from the availability of building materials for construction projects.
The First Lady is expected to congratulate Guru Nanak for their timely intervention and commitment to rural development in the country. She will also wish them good luck in their business endeavors.
