The Executive Director of the Fire Fleyes, Regind Rigney has donated sporting equipment to the Kroo Bay community. The US-based not-for-profit organization donated jerseys and a host of other items to the slum area.
She said they would try to upgrade the Community field and would like to work with kids and young adults in areas like creation of arts and sports.
When the team were last at Kroo Bay they in June last year they donated such items as clothes and engaged in feeding programmes. They promised that on their return they would donate sporting equipment to the community’s football team which was why they presented the latest set of sporting gifts.
Rigney promised that the next time they were here they would try their best to upgrade the Community field. She also stated that apart of humanitarian assistance they also empowered the youth with educational facilities to encourage especially the youth to developed their manpower skills
When asked if they were ready to expose some of the players of the community to international football, she responded in the affirmative, adding that when they go back to the US they would talk to some of their donors to see what help they can render to these players.
They also stated that they are working in collaboration with the raining season organization in Sierra Leone.
