The President of the Sierra Leone Wrestling Association Prince Sualley has disclosed to Awoko Sports that the President of the International Federation for Wrestling (FILA) Raphael Martinetti has promised to support Sierra Leone Wrestling Association to develop to international standards.
He was speaking during the General African Wrestling Congress in Casablanca, Morocco. Mr.Sualley also stated that Raphael has been assisting the wrestling association since last December when he provided the association with two international experts that conducted a month’s course in Freetown. Since then, the Wrestling Association has been able to make some head way by creating impacts in their last three international competitions.
He also revealed that apart from the experts that he provided for the association, he was also able to donate some FILA size mats to the association which they are using at trainings and also during their local competitions.
Sualley also said that since the retirement of Milan Ecergan as President of FILA and when Raphael Martinetti took over as president, he has contributed a lot to the development of Wrestling in the world by trying to support nations that are not developed and well equipped.
