Sierra Leone: The Scribe of FIFA Madam Samoura pledged the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000) which is an equivalent of Fifty Million Leones (Le 50,000,000) as her personal token of support to enhance the skills training project at the Female Correctional Centre in Freetown.
In her statement, the FIFA General Secretary Madam Fatma Samoura, who was deeply emotional, encouraged the female prisoners to focus on correcting their wrongs so they could come out as changed young girls to live a positive life in society.
She made this statement when they visited the Female Correctional Centre in Freetown and showed firm solidarity and support to the inmates as Sierra Leone celebrated its 60th independence anniversary.
She was in attendance with the Sierra Leone Football Association President, Isha Johansen along with the FIFA Regional Development Officer for West and Central Africa- El-Hadj Wack Diop.
Also, part of the delegation were a few members of the Sierra Leone female football veterans including the Chairperson Musu ‘Pele’ Bangura.
Explaining the purpose of her visit to the inmates the SLFA President said “On a very special occasion like this today, we have decided to come and celebrate with you and encourage you to continue to be strong in faith,” adding that, “Despite your present condition we have not and will never give up on you as you are sisters of this soil.
The SLFA Boss ended the her statement with a presentation of two sets of the new Leone Stars Umbro branded playing kits and training equipment including standard balls to the inmates. BT/06/05/2021
