Sierra Leone: Newly appointed FIFA Chief Member Associations Officer Kenny Jean-Marie and the FIFA Regional Development officer for West and Central Africa, El-Hadj Wack Diop will arrive in Sierra Leone ahead of the Mano River Football for Peace initiative in which the keynote speaker will be the FIFA Secretary General Madam Fatma Samoura on Monday the 26th April at the Bintumani Hotel in Freetown.
French National- Kenny Jean-Marie, a former high level civil servant, served as youth and sports senior political adviser to the French Prime Minister and several ministerial departments like Defense and Interior. He also served as Chief of staff for French FA President Noël Le Graet. Jean-Marie is a key senior figure in the FIFA Governance and Development structure.
El-Hadj Wack Diop holds the responsibility of assisting regional member associations in carrying out their development projects in line with the FIFA Forward Program.
Liberian FA President, recently elected as CAF Executive Committee Member – Mustapha I. Raji will also be part of the entourage.
SLFA President Madam Isha Johansen will be keen to engage FIFA and CAF as partners in the Mano River Football for Peace initiative using football to strengthen social, economic and ethnic ties within Sierra Leone and the sub-region. Johansen says that, “The inaugural Mano River Football for Peace could not have come at a better time as we celebrate Sierra Leone’s 60th Independence Anniversary”.
The delegation will also be expected to witness the commemoration of the newly installed FIFA funded SLFA Artificial Turf in Kenema.
The ceremony’s grand finale will be highlighted with an international friendly encounter between Sierra Leone and Liberia’s Home-Based national male.
