Sierra Leone Female Veterans recently visited the National Women’s U-20 camp at Hill Valley Hotel and donated 50 bundles of sachet water and 25 bundles of sanitary pads as their little token of support towards preparation ahead of the WAFU Female U-20 Tournament to be played in Cape Verde this year.
Presenting the items to the team captain, the President of the Female Veterans Musu ‘Pelé’ Bangura who doubles as the Team Manager of the Sierra Leone Female U-20 said “our little support is to complement the efforts of SLFA and our Iron Lady Madam Isha Johansen for the good job she is doing for the women’s game in Sierra Leone.”
Vice President of the Female Veterans Kadiatu Tutu Kamara implored the female players to make great use of the opportunities available in the country’s female football scene today. ”You guys should count yourselves lucky to be camped in a standard hotel for training. We never had such opportunities during our days as active players. Today female players receive the same pay as their male counterparts. Let these available opportunities inspire you to work hard and bring laurels to your country,” she added.
”The hard work has already started and we will continue to work harder to make the nation proud. My ladies have been showing high level of determination in training which shows that the future is bright,” the female U-20 Head Coach Victoria Conteh assured the visitors.
