The female police team over the weekend went through to the final stage of the third annual female football snap organized by the Youth Football Association.
They eliminated Lioness on a 2-1 aggregate to proceed to the final. In the first leg, it was a one all affair and in the second leg police won by a lone goal.
The other semi-final will be between Amazons and Prisons, and the winner will battle with the well determined police side.
During the competition six teams were divided into two groups. In group A were Eastern Lioness, Soccer Queens and Prisons and in group B were Police female team, Soccer Angles and Amazons.
According to the organizers the main reason for the competition is to keep the players busy for the FA Cup competition that will start soon.
The police sports coordinator, Sundifu Sowa, told Awoko that they were going to lift the trophy “because our players are getting motivation from the Inspector General of Police and team”.
He noted that, “since Acha Kamara has been Inspector General he has done a lot for sport in the police. That is the reason why the police can boast of 8 national cricket players.”
