FC Kallon has registered its first win in the on-going premier league with an impressive 3-1 win over defending champions, Ports Authority on Thursday at the National Stadium in Freetown.
The impressive performance of FC Kallon was not a surprise as the owner of the club Mohamed Kallon was also part of the team during the second half of the match.
In the 13th minutes of the match midfielder Mohamed Bangura gave Kallon FC the lead after his right-footed shot inside the box from a rebound.
Ports Authority FC levelled from the penalty spot which was converted by Mohamed Mansaray but FC Kallon restored their lead to 2-1 just four before the break when Alhaji Kamara beats the offside trap to cleverly misplace the advancing Ports Authority goalkeeper.
Alhaji Kamara sealed the victory and maintained his brace for FC Kallon with an easy after he collected a pass from incomer Ibrahim K Fofonah’s finish.
While on the Friday January 20th Saturday 2012 at the National Stadium in Freetown Mighty Blackpool and East End Lions played to a goalless draw after both teams created lot of chances but failed to converted it into goals
Speaking to this press the head coach of Mighty Blackpool Prince Toe stated that he was not happy with the result as the center man gave due advantage to their opponent East End Lions which did not go down well with them as some of their opponent players should have red carded for rough play.
According Coach Prince Toe the match was too fast for the referee who was also far from the ball as the referee was responsible for the draw.
East End Lions coach Abdulai Bah aka Kaloga said nobody will happy for a draw but all is part of the game as their opponent was up top of situation but they were able to put them under control and he hope that in their next game they will come more stronger to secured their first win.
Also on the same day in Kenema, Kamboi Eagles came very strong to halt Wusum Stars from their winning spree by defeated them by two goals to nil to secured 7 points from three matches
Also in Kono, Diamond Stars defeated Gem Stars by a goal to nil this is Gem Stars second lost in a row which have put them in bad standing in the league.
