The deputy minister of Education Youth and Sports Algassium Jah said that FC Johansen has change the image of Salone football; he made this statement yesterday at the Altantic Hall at the National Stadium when the team presented the wining trophy to him.
He also describes the team as the hope of the hopeless and there is light at the end of the tunnel.
He said that the players are the present, because of their present performances. This country can boast of such quality and as a team they want to win the world cup with hard work.
He also revealed that they are the ambassadors of this country that is why they have branded this country, and appeal to them to keep their eyes on the ball if they want to have more successes.
The chairman for Youth and Sports in parliament Nuru Deen Sankoh in his own contribution said it has been a joyful day in the history of Sierra Leone for a team to go to Europe and win competition. This is not a surprise to him as FC Johansen alays want to win such trophy
He disclosed that FC Johansen has set the pace, and it is now left with others to follow suit. He advised them to listen to their coaches always if they want to become good players in the future.
The founder and proprietress of the team Isha Johansen said the project which she started five years ago has been a success. She also mentioned that during their first international outing many people requested them to represent Sierra Leone because of their outstanding performances in their past competitions.
The chairman of the programme Victor Hasting Spaine said that this is another milestone in the history of sports in Sierra Leone for their superb performances in both competitions in Sweden.
