A farmer resident in Panguma Section in Kailahun town, Mohamed Johnny has been convicted to three months imprisonment upon what appeared to be his final appearance in a matter in the Magistrate Court in Kailahun presided over by Magistrate Mohamed Alhaji Momoh-Jah Stevens.
Johnny was standing trial for unlawful possession materials considered to be house breaking implements contrary to Section 13 (1) of Cap 37 as amended by Section 5 of Act No. 6 of 1981and larceny contrary to Section 14 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, Mohamed Johnny on 3rd December 2011 in the Luawa chiefdom was found in possession of two axe saw blades, and sometime in December 2011 he stole from the person of Fayia Yafondu the sum of Le 300, 000 (three hundred thousand Leones).
The Johnny was however found guilty on count one and was sentence to three months imprisonment and was discharged on count two for want of prosecution. The matter was prosecuted by Police Sergeant 3643 Teh M.A. of the Kailahun Police Division.
