Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – The Chairman of the Premier League Board, Victor Lewis, has confirmed that the Leone Rock Premier League is set to kick off on November 3, 2023, with two exciting matches.
At the Angola field, FC Kallon will host Old Edwardians in what promises to be a high-octane match, with both teams fiercely vying for victory. Expect fireworks on the pitch as these teams go head to head.
Simultaneously, on the same day, Freetonians SLIFA will lock horns with Luawa FC at Trade Centre, promising another intense showdown.
On Saturday, November 4, 2023, the two newly promoted sides, Kahunla Rangers and Bhantal FC, will face each other at the Kenema Field. Meanwhile, Lamboi FC will host Real Republicans in a thrilling encounter, and the Wusum Field will witness the start of the North-East derby as Wusum Stars host Kholifa Stars. In Port Loko, Bai Bureh Warriors will play against Wilberforce Strikers.
The action continues on Sunday, November 5, 2023, as East End Lions host Mighty Blackpool at the Trade Centre Field. The defending champions, Bo Rangers, will open their campaign against the City Boys – Freetown City Football Club.
Before unveiling the first three days’ fixtures, Chairman Lewis commended Leone Rock Metal Group for their unwavering support for football and conveyed a message to President Julius Maada Bio through the Minister of Sports. He emphasized the President’s instrumental role in supporting football, stating that the financial support has been gradually decreasing. The board chairman appealed to the President to increase support for football, stressing the sport’s dependence on his assistance. “Madam Minister, I kindly request that you convey this message to President Bio.
